KORCULA, a town and port on the north-eastern coast of the island of Korcula, situated on a small peninsula which is connected with the island by a narrow isthmus; population 3,232. The surrounding coastal area is covered with pine forests. East of the port is a small group of islets. The climate is mild; an average air temperature in January is 9.8 °C and in July 26.9 °C; the island is famous for a long insolation. Economy is based on farming, growing of vines, olives and fruit, fishing, shipbuilding, stone processing, tourism and nautical tourism. The regional road connects the town of Korcula with all major places on the island. The port consists of the western and the eastern part. Korcula Marina is located in a cove on the eastern side of the town. Korcula has regular ferry lines with the mainland (Korcula - Orebic).

KORCULA, Hafenstädtchen an der Nordostküste der gleichnamigen Insel, auf einer kleinen, über eine schmale Landenge zu erreichenden Halbinsel gelegen; 3232 Einw.; das umliegende Küstengebiet ist mit Kiefern bewachsen. Dem Hafen ist in östlicher Richtung eine kleine Inselgruppe vorgelagert. Mildes Klima: mittlere Lufttemperatur im Januar 9,8 °C, im Juli 26,9 °C; die Insel ist für ihr sonnenreiches Wetter bekannt. Eine Landstraße verbindet die Stadt mit den anderen Orten der Insel. Der Hafen besteht aus einem westlichen und einem östlichen Teil. Der Jachthafen KorCula liegt an einer Bucht im Osten der Stadt. Fährverbindung zum Festland (KorCula_OrebiC).

KORČULA, grad i luka na sjeveroistočnoj obali istoimenog otoka, na poluotočiću koji je uskom prevlakom spojen s otokom; 3232 stan. Okolno obalno područje je pod borovom šumom. Istočno od luke je mala skupina otočića. Klima je blaga; srednja temperatura zraka u siječnju je 9,8 °C, u srpnju 26,9 °C; otok je poznat po velikoj insolaciji. Gospodarska je osnova poljodjelstvo, vinogradarstvo, maslinarstvo, voćarstvo u okolici grada, ribarstvo, brodogradnja, obrada kamena, turizam i nautički turizam. Regionalnom prometnicom povezana sa svim naseljima na otoku. Luka se sastoji od zapadnoga i istočnoga lučkog dijela. Marina Korčula nalazi se u uvali na istočnoj strani grada. Trajektom je povezana s kopnom (Korčula-Orebić).
